Selank
Synthetic tuftsin analog for anxiolytic, nootropic, and immune research.
Description
Selank is a synthetic analog of the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is a heptapeptide with the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, which includes the tuftsin sequence with an additional Pro-Gly-Pro stabilizing segment.
Research has shown Selank to have potent anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and nootropic (cognitive-enhancing) properties without sedative effects. It has been studied for its effects on BDNF expression, immune function, serotonin metabolism, and gene expression related to GABAergic signaling. Unlike benzodiazepines, Selank does not cause dependence or withdrawal effects in research models. This compound is for research purposes only.
