Semax
ACTH-derived neuropeptide for cognitive enhancement and neuroprotection research.
Description
Semax is a synthetic peptide derived from adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), specifically the ACTH(4-7) fragment with the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe, extended with the Pro-Gly-Pro C-terminal tripeptide. Developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it has been approved as a nootropic in Russia and other CIS countries.
Research has demonstrated Semax's neuroprotective properties and its ability to promote neuronal survival and growth. It has been studied for effects on BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) expression, cognitive function, memory formation, and recovery from brain injuries. It influences dopaminergic and serotoninergic brain systems. This compound is for research purposes only.
